Question: Why did God allow Satan to lead His own angels away from Him, even though he knew beforehand that Satan would turn against Him?
Because the whole of the current events re. The “Mystery of iniquity”, are premised on the fact of “free-will”!
It is the outcome of the free-will of all Creation; Angels, Powers, Satan and Humans; when compared with that of Christ Jesus; which produces the opportunity for “Salvation” in Jesus; and the gift of becoming the “Children of Almighty God”; because of the “Price that Jesus paid in His "Free-will”!
